State Ag Response Training Scheduled
The Florida State Agricultural Response Team (SART) will host its first annual statewide training conference May 30 through June 1 in St. Petersburg. Agricultural producers and leaders from the agricultural industry, USDA, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and Cooperative Extension are encouraged to visit the SART Web site at www.flsart.org to register for the conference.
The conference will feature topics such as: Terrorist and Criminal Threats to Agriculture, Producer Security/ Biosecurity, Foreign Animal Diseases, Plant Pests, Africanized Honey Bee, Food Defense Hazmat Awareness, and Emergency Management issues. Presenters include federal, state, county, and private industry leaders.
