Hinton Released From FSGA
The Florida Strawberry Growers Association (FSGA) would like to announce that Chip Hinton’s employment as executive director of the association was discontinued Nov. 30, and that an effort is currently underway to locate a qualified replacement. In the interim, Erin Best, member services director for FSGA, has been named acting executive director.
Hinton has been the Association’s only executive director, and during his tenure over the last 24 years, he accomplished much for FSGA and its members. With present and future challenges facing the strawberry community however, the FSGA’s board of directors unanimously determined late last month that it was important to the Association’s future success to proceed under new leadership.
“On the behalf of the Board of Directors and the entire membership of our association, we’d like to thank Chip Hinton for all of the good things he accomplished during his tenure as the association’s executive director. We wish him all the best in future endeavors, as we turn to the challenges of bringing in new leadership for the association and offering greater value for our current and future members,” said Tommy Brock, president of the Florida Strawberry Growers Association.
