Labor Department Offers Free Seminars
The U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division is offering three free training seminars to assist farm labor contractors and agricultural employers with compliance requirements of the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act. Federal and state representatives will conduct the training, with special emphasis on transportation and migrant housing, as well as H2A registration information and Wage and Hour’s role in the enforcement of H2A contracts. The meetings will be held on Dec. 4 at the Turner Agri-Civic Center in Arcadia; December 5 at Nora Mayo Hall in Winter Haven; and December 6 at the Manatee Civic Center in Palmetto. All meetings will begin at 5:30 p.m.
